stuff

I did another cyclocross race this past Sunday. I don't know why, since I'm not too fond of the race. Jake called me to tell me it was starting half an hour late, which I guess was good cause it would give me more time to chill and get ready. CX racing is quite addictive. It hurts so bad, but in a strangely rewarding kind of way. They say the off-season is a time for recovery, but so far it has been nothing but run-n-gun since Oct. 7. Fell off my bike a couple of times somewhere in there. It's as if we get to have a "do over" in mountain biking, and it's even affecting the 26 inch mountain bikes. Riding up the hill out of town I kept the watts above 600. I think the climb lasted around 2 minutes. I needed a pair of sungalsses. Rob needed to see the furry skin of another man. I'm not much of runner but feel this is a good excuse to get me out running before the bike training starts for next year. china is still threatening to invade militarily if taiwan announces independence. i live in constant fear of earthquakes because I know my 12 story building is not up to code. i've been trying to wean myself from the medication the doctors had been giving me. i was fairly certain that the pain would not be so great that a tough guy like me couldn't suffer through without help. Got one hell of a workout in. I really hope they do these races again next season. Had a great time hangin’ out with all of the roadies. The fields were very impressive with several super fast guys from around the midwest in attendance. Our guys held their own and we are off to a fantastic start to the 2006 cross season. I love racing as much as the next guy but my body is starting to wear down a bit. I am looking forward to the end of racing and the start of riding :) I did get a photo of a young doe just milling around underneath my stand, these animals truly are beautiful:).....oh and good to eat!

kronic

so I am sitting here in class and there is one thing I can't get off of my mind.... I have chronic, yet controlable diarhea. I think it must be some sort of anxiety effect as I feel somewhat ok. Kinda like pre-race jitters.
On a side note, my Trek Madone broke again. The Trek rep looked at it and said it was normal......asshole

old lady

I cut down a really big tree in my front yard. I wish Cam would have been here. I'm finally on the computer because I am too tired to walk. If I feel sick I will ride 80 miles later. Riding in crooked lines and funny circles at Sockum rockum ridge this weekend. Hope some fellers bring their mosquito delete'os. I got beat by Steve Tilford last weekend. Guess I'm not peaking yet. I ate lunch out of a box and had really puffy cookie too. My good knee hurts, no team Cliff bar around for that one. Is it going to rain this weekend? I can drink a gallon of milk in 5 days.

memorial day

Seems like around here anybody that races road and mountain think constantly, year round about memorial day weekend bike races. They are alot of fun if you can figure out how to finish everything and not loose hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment. I managed to have such luck and will be able to ride my bicycles still. I even got a little bit of money and talked to alot of cool people while I rode around in lots of circles. My favorite race was Snake Alley cuz alot of people popped. My least favorite race was Rock Island because it was too easy for everybody and everyone stayed together in most races which caused alot of people to get hurt because bikes run into to each other when they get really close together. Some really neato people came over to my house Saturday and watched my son play with fire.....awesome
